The Global CCS Institute catalogs Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) projects around the world. As of 2012 they list 74 projects around the world, resulting in a very large quantity of CO2 that is destined for underground geological storage. Once stored, the CO2 has no value.
This represents a huge CO2 resource to serve as the carbon source for CRH projects, to be regenerated into synthetic hydrocarbons to add value that would not otherwise exist.

Our valuation methodology for CO2 seeks to arbitrage the most cost effective CO2 we can find, into the most valuable hydrocarbons in use today, that is, liquid fuels. As such, CRH is very synergistic with CCS projects as we aim to add value to the CO2 that CCS projects generate, so we would love to hear from you if your firm is engaged in a CCS project, so that we can move forward to the "new carbon math", CCS+CRH = CCU !
